Everyone's Born to Die

This came on shuffle on the way home from work. Amazing ELO song recorded for their 1973 album On The Third Day, but unreleased until one of the reissues. That's Marc Bolan, of T.Rex fame, playing guitar. Funny coincidence, because yesterday, while shaping 009, which is my first board from the EPS block I procured, I was listening to The Slider, T.Rex's spectacular 1972 album. So spectacular, in fact, that I'll also include a track from that.

  1. Metal Guru is one of my favorite opening tracks ever. Mainly that other-wordly wail that Bolan lets out to start it off. Also the lyrics: "Metal Guru, could it be, just like like a silver-studded sabertooth dream?"

  2. Definitely an incredible opening song. And his lyrics on this album are top notch, I love the line from Spaceball Ricochet: "Book after book, I get hooked every time the writer talks to me like a friend." Well said, Mr. Bolan. I think I've got to put more T. Rex on my iPod.
